Bukkit for 1.0

I will be working on updating bukkit tonight. Not sure how badly people want the old map, but it’s pretty dated now. I think it time to move forward and either keep the current map or start a brand new one.

If you have recently joined the server and have not filled out a builders app please do, so that I can keep your permissions updated. I use it to keep track of donators as well.

I will be adding back some of the old mods, but the main map should remain vanilla. Mods try not to use the Creative Mode too often if you don’t need to.

Beta 1.9 and the Future

It’s highly likely that Minecraft Beta 1.9 Pre-Release will be out sometime today. Which means it’s highly likely the server will be updated in the next few days when 1.9 Final comes out.

Bukkit updated last night to a “Recommended Build” status for 1.8.1 which means it’s working, but there’s not much point in setting it up if Notch is simply going to put 1.9 out tomorrow.

Also Minecraft is fast approaching it’s release date of November 18th. There will be lots of updates so we may be screwed on Bukkit for some time.

Luckily the Vanilla server we’ve been running has been a lot of fun. Except for the jerks who took my bed and let my chickens out.

When CraftBukkit updates for 1.8 server I might set up Spout if anyone is interested. Its cool in that it can “ bridge the ever-widening chasm between single player mods, and multi-player Bukkit plugins. “

Here are some fancy clickable tabs that show its features:

(Players do not need the Spoutcraft client mod installed.)

Teleport smoothing

Beta 1.8 Server

I realize that this server will be updated about 20 times by next week, but I thought I get it up and running now, so we can test and break it as much as possible before loading up the old map.

This map will more then likely become the Survival Map when craftbukkit updates. No item spawn and probably vanilla permissions. So try not to burn it down.

Beta 1.8 Pre-Release Server

Currently there are two servers running. One with the world we’ve been using.

The second one is running vanilla Minecraft 1.8 Pre-Release.

Download the Pre-Release Client: Minecraft 1.8 Prerelease 2

Installation Instructions:

1. Hit the Windows button on your keyboard + R at the same time
2. Type %appdata%
3. Locate your .minecraft folder
4. Go to your bin folder located in the .minecraft folder
5. Download the new Minecraft.jar and drag it into the bin folder
6. Remove and Replace with the old one.

Note: If your old 1.7.3 jar still has mods on it that you don’t want to re-add, make a backup.

Server Outages

Between Work and Sleep, I haven’t had much time to work on the server.

I spent Friday upgrading the server to 1gb of ram and also installing McMyAdmin to make it easier to use. It was in desperate need of auto restarts so it would stop getting clogged up. It should be much much better now.

Permissions is still being worked on, but McMyAdmin will make it a lot easier to work on it and keep it up to date.

Once I get the server fully running with all its normal plugins on Saturday, I’m going to go into overhauling the Website so its a bit more useful.

I check my email all the time, except when sleeping, so I should be able to respond in a pretty reasonable time span.

World Edit: Easy World Editing. duh. (Premium User Only)

Essentials: Extended Commands. (/warp, /home, /time, /weather, /etc)

War: Adds Custom Zones for PVP Battle.

Heroic Death: Tells everyone on the server how you died.

Kit: Adds Kits. /kit

GiveMeWool: Simple /wool command. (Temp Disabled)

Magic Carpet: For Flying (Premium User Only)

Tables: Makes it possible to place Pressure Plates on Fences Posts.

Dynamap: Creates the Fancy Map linked at the top.
